I guess it was a good thing that I was feeling somewhat hungry this morning. At least that gave me some slight motivation to make the drink. The minute I took the lid off the blender though, the smell made me distinctly feel like I did not want to do this again!

This morning, I used some dextrose rather than honey as it’s less sweet. It’s the sickly sweetness of the drink that is getting to me the most, so my reasoning was that if it was less sweet, it would be more palatable.

I think I achieved that, slightly. It was still hard to get it down. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, but I could just put half of the sweetener in the drink, and eat a tablespoon of honey during the day. That’s my plan for tonight. Hopefully less sweet will equal easier to swallow.

Otherwise, I’m feeling fine.

Lunchtime: I think I’ve cracked the recipe. No honey. While I’ve used honey prolifically before, mostly in cooking, but I can eat it just straight off the spoon too. But, in this recipe, it’s just waaayyyy too sweet.

So, I’m using half the amount of the glucose syrup (dextrose) which is much, much less sweeter than honey. And then just eating a tablespoon of honey off a spoon. The taste of the drink is much better. I may still slightly screw up my face, but it’s so, so much better.

I wasn’t very hungry so just made a half serve for lunch, which meant by dinner, I was somewhat hungry.

Anyway, day 2 done!
